Story Fan Maker at https://storyfanmaker.com is an AI story generator: you describe characters and a situation, and an AI model writes a short text story. This policy says what we collect, where it is kept, who handles it, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
If you use only the free stories, you do not need an account and we do not ask for your name or email. To count the free daily stories and prevent abuse, we store a hashed IP address and a random device id kept in your browser. You sign in with your Google account ("Continue with Google"). Google then shares three things with us: the email address, the name and the profile picture of that Google account. We do not see your Google password and we do not ask for any other Google data, such as contacts, files or mail. Google also gives us a sign-in token for your account, which we keep only so the sign-in works. When you are signed in we also keep a sign-in session (its time, and the IP address and browser type it was opened from), your generation balance, your orders and any refund requests.
Your setups and stories
The setup you type is sent to our model provider to write the story and is checked by our content filters. Free stories are not saved on our servers: the finished story is kept only in your browser's local storage on your device, and clearing your browser data deletes it. Stories written with a pack are handled the same way: we do not keep story text on our servers. For each story we keep only a usage record (time, length, word count, token count, whether it was free or paid, and a one-way hash of the setup) for billing, the free daily limit and abuse prevention. When a request is blocked by the content rules we keep only the rule category and that hash, not your text. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your setups or stories to train AI models. Please do not put private information about yourself or anyone else into a setup.
Payments
Payments are made through PayPal checkout. PayPal collects and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy; we receive only what we need to record the order, such as the order id, amount, date and the email on the order. We never see your full card or bank details.
Who processes data
Your story details are sent to EvoLink (evolink.ai), which routes requests to Google Gemini only to write and safety-check the story. Payments are processed by PayPal. Sign-in is handled by Google, which processes it under its own privacy policy. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which also stores files, serves pages, and provides the security check at checkout. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits (see Analytics below).
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how many people visit, which pages they use, and whether stories finish or fail, so we can fix problems. It records pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, the site that sent you, and a few events without any content: "a story was started", "a story finished", "a story failed" and "a Buy button was pressed". We never send your setups, character names, story text or email address to Google Analytics. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga) to tell visits apart. You can block them in your browser or with Google's opt-out add-on. We do not use advertising features, and there are no ads on this site.
Cookies
We use a sign-in cookie. We also set two first-party cookies that remember where you first arrived and the latest visit that had a source, such as a search engine. Google Analytics sets its _ga cookies, described above. The device id sits in local storage, not in an advertising cookie. We do not use advertising cookies.
Account deletion
Email support@storyfanmaker.com from the email address you signed in with and ask us to delete the account. We delete the account and the usage records tied to it. We may keep order records where tax or accounting rules require it. Free stories live only in your browser, so you can delete them yourself at any time by clearing the site's data.
Children and teens
Story Fan Maker is for people 13 and older, and people aged 13 to 17 may use it only with a parent's or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@storyfanmaker.com. We answer within 30 days.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top is the version that applies.
